We offer a comprehensive range of professional qualifications which lead to attainment of Chartered Banker status.
People come to banking from all walks of life and at differing stages in their career. Our qualification programmes on supporting individuals gain core knowledge skills appropriate to their role, and then to develop the appropriate skills, attitudes and behaviours to apply this knowledge. Our qualification framework is modular and certain certification can be achieved in a matter of a few months. All our qualifications can be studied fully online. We are engaged in ensuring relevant apprenticeships are linked to our professional qualifications.
Where you have relevant prior learning, including experiential learning, we give due consideration and recognition to this. - More about qualification

We are committed to raising professional standards in banking globally. This is often better achieved by working with like-minded bodies - a list of current arrangements is available from our website.
If you wish to study with us directly but live outside the UK, our process is the same as if you were applying from within the UK. We recognise relevant prior learning, and also offer a specific, experiential route to Chartered Banker. However, we firmly believe in learning that is suited to where you work and so we work with similar organisations all over the world to build a network of qualified Chartered Bankers. We have a large number of joint initiatives with like-minded bodies supporting bankers across the world achieve and maintain the highest standards of responsible and ethical professionalism. We already work closely with partners in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and The Americas and are always open to exploring relationships with new, key partners to continue to grow our established network.
In doing so, we ensure our programmes meet any additional requirements applicable the jurisdictions of our partners. For example, our Green and Sustainable Finance Certificate is also accredited by the:
Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA)
Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)

Registration

You should contact the Institute directly to register qualifications and prior learning and experience with us. We recommend that if you live outside the UK, you first investigate our website to see if we have partnerships operating in your region.
To maintain the status of Chartered Banker you must commit to and comply with the Chartered Banker Institute's Code of Professional Conduct on an ongoing basis.
As a Chartered Banker you are also required to maintain your skills, knowledge and expertise through a programme of relevant continuing professional development (CPD). We support you in this by offering a wide range of resources to support you as you develop in your role and career as part of your membership.
To ensure we protect the status of the Chartered Banker title, it is only conferred upon those with a current membership of the Institute at the grade of 'Member' or, where applicable 'Fellow'. You will therefore be required to pay annual membership fees - details of which can be found by visiting the Institute's website and following the information pathway on Membership.
