Accessibility statement for the Regulated Professions Register
This accessibility statement applies to the Regulated Professions Register (RPR) at https://www.regulated-professions.service.gov.uk.
This website is run by the Department for Business and Trade (DBT). We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:
- change colours, contrast levels and fonts
- zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
- navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
- navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
- listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
We've also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.
How accessible this website is
We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:
- elements receive keyboard focus even if they are hidden on the page
- some links are not descriptive of their purpose/destination
- status messages are not announced to users

Technical information about this website's accessibility
The Department for Business and Trade is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No.2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.
Compliance status
The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Cookie banner elements receive keyboard focus even if they are hidden on the page. As a result, the content order is not matched. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 1.3.1 Info and Relationships (Level A) and 2.4.3 Focus Order (Level A).
Some links are not descriptive of their purpose/destination. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.4.4 Link Purpose (In Context) (Level A) and 2.4.9 Link Purpose (Link Only) (Level AAA).
Status messages cannot be programmatically determined through role or properties in order that they can be presented to users by assistive technologies without receiving focus. This fails WCAG 2.2 success criterion 4.1.3 Status Messages (Level AA).
We plan to fix these accessibility issues by August 2025.
