Qualifications and experience
New professionals

To qualify as a Chartered Director, you must hold the Certificate in Company Direction, the Diploma in Company Direction, and you must have been in a director or a director type role for a minimum of three years and be serving on a board or board type entity.

Registration

If you wish to become a Chartered Director, you must first become a member of the Institue of Directors.
In order to become a member, you must be a company director or, if your organisation is not a limited company you must be operating in a director type role.
