Regulation summary
All those working in the science, practice, application, advancement or teaching of meteorology can become accredited, subject to the appropriate combination of qualifications and experience. RMetS also offers an accreditation aimed at early career professionals called Registered Meteorologist for more information visit www.rmets.org/registered-meteorologist
A CMet will be able to demonstrate commitment to the highest standards of professionalism and knowledge of meteorology, as well as competence and continuing development. It benchmarks professional meteorologists at this highest level, no matter in which specialism or sector of the discipline they work.
As part of the application, you must declare adherence to the professional Code of Conduct associated with the CMet accreditation. Actions contrary to this code will provide grounds for your accreditation to be withdrawn.
CMet accreditation is a formally recognised, public statement that the holder maintains the standard and keeps their knowledge and practice up to date through a process of continuing professional development (CPD).
