Regulation

Regulation summary

Occupational hygiene is the discipline of protecting worker health by controlling workplace hazards that can cause harm. It also helps in maintaining worker well-being and safeguarding the community at large.

BOHS were awarded a Royal Charter in 2012, recognising our role as the leading UK authority on worker health protection. Therefore, if you achieve the Diploma of Professional Competence in Occupational Hygiene, you can gain the status of Chartered Occupational Hygienist.

‘Chartered Occupational Hygienist’ is a coveted and protected title, which is recognised as a mark of excellence across the world.
