Qualifications and experience

New professionals

Routes to qualification

Chartered Scientist Teacher registration is gained through an application based on professional experience, a competency report and academic qualifications (level 7 or equivalent professional experience). Membership of one of the Science Council’s Licensed Bodies is also required in order to be eligible.

Summary of routes

CSciTeach is available to applicants from outside the UK, and the application is reviewed against the same requirements. Where educational levels differ, equivalency may be required


Registration

Registration requirements

CSciTeach is for those working in science who have a level 7 qualification in science or equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience. Individuals must be able to evidence that they meet the CSciTeach competencies and undertake CPD.
