After you have successfully passed the CTA examinations, you need to have three years professional work experience before you can apply for membership. This may be gained either in full-time or part-time employment or as a sole practitioner and can be gained prior to, whilst or after studying for CTA.
You must also have two sponsors both with a relevant qualification, who have known you for at least two years. The role of the sponsor is to verify that the information you have provided within the application form is true and correct.
When you have successfully passed your exams and received notification from CIOT of your eligibility to apply for membership of the CIOT, you need to pay the membership fee £406 for 2023 when you complete the application form.
