Day care worker- compulsory registration.

Day care workers are employed in centres to support and empower adults. This includes adults with physical / learning disabilities, mental health challenges, older people and adults who are homeless.
Day care workers must register with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council on Part Two of the register.

Registration must be maintained by paying an annual fee and undertaking continuous professional development during their period of registration.

Registration

Registration requirements

Must register with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council- Part Two of the register. An annual fee is required . All registrants must work to the Standards of Conduct and Practice. Day Care Workers must undertake post registration training and learning- 90 hours every five years.
