The SSSC Register was set up under the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001 to regulate for the social work, social care and early years workforce.
Managers in adult day care services hold responsibilities for the overall management, development and quality assurance of care and support provided in an adult day care service, this includes the supervision of staff and the management of resources.
You must be registered within 6 months of starting this role.

You must hold or work towards gaining two qualifications to meet the qualification criteria, a practice and a management qualification.
Where a manager does not hold qualifications that meet our criteria, they are generally given 5 years to gain them.
The benchmark qualification for practice is:

You do not need to hold a qualification to work in social services in order to get registered with the SSSC.
We do not assess international social care qualifications for registration on any function-based part of the register.
Instead, you are required to achieve the benchmark qualifications for you role. You can continue to register with us and will be required to gain the relevant benchmark qualification whilst you are working.
You can contact your learning provider to find out if you can use your international qualification for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
