Pharmacists are responsible for: the quality of medicines supplied to patients, ensuring that the supply of medicines is within the law, ensuring that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable, advising patients about medicines, including how to take them, what reactions may occur and answering patients' questions.
Pharmacy practise in Northern Ireland is regulated by the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland, a body of statute, Pharmacy (Northern Ireland) Order 1976.

Registration as a Pharmacist in NI requires:
1. possession of a Great Britain or Northern Ireland accredited pharmacy qualification, and
2. successful completion of a 52-week programme of pre-registration training in Northern Ireland, and
