Regulation summary

Radiographers are healthcare professionals who specialise in the imaging of human anatomy for the diagnosis and treatment of pathology.

The profession is split into two modalities: therapeutic and diagnostic.

Therapeutic radiographers plan and deliver treatment using radiation and can have the right to undertake supplementary as well as independent prescribing.

Diagnostic radiographers produce and interpret high-quality images of the body to diagnose injuries and diseases and can have the right to undertake supplementary prescribing.
